Filming Blog: Week Two

Currently we haven't filmed yet. Because of the loss of one of our group members, our schedule had to be changed around. We plan on filming this coming weekend. It shouldn't be a problem getting everyone together. Its most likely going to be harder to film effectively without that member, but we are glad that she wasn't in the film itself. If she was, we would have had to find someone else to fill her spot. We will be filming at my house getting shots of my office and street. We will use the office shots for the more serious scenes. A few of the scenes are the ones with dialog and paperwork. any communication that goes on will most likely happen in the office. This is because of the controlled environment in the office vs the loud outside. If any dialog were to be recorded outside it would most likely take a lot longer than necessary. This is due to the noise coming from any bugs, dogs or passing cars. A lot of cars pass by my street even though it’s a dead end. I live on an island that is only accessible by bridges, so many cars go down my street thinking there is a little bridge.

The outside shots of my street will be for less serous events and be used for scenery, fights and any driving that will occur. Any fighting or altercations that aren't verbal will happen outside to keep the damage in my house at zero. We will also be using the sunset at the end of my street to give a late-night feeling to the movie. There will also be some outside shots of the interior of the house from different windows. The Purpose of this is to give any events in the office a specific effect that complies with the scene. For example: An over the shoulder shot through the window would indicate that what is being said is directed specifically at whomever in in the shot.

Filming Blog: Week Two

On Friday, we lost a group member due to class changes. we were not expecting this and therefor caused us some UN foreseen issues we were not planning on have when we started. Because Freya switched out of our AICE Media Studies class a lot of things had to be changed. Without her in our group we will have less help when it comes to filming and editing. My group also had plans to film in Freya's neighborhood. Due to the inconvenience of her not being in our group anymore, we had to find another spot to film.  I mentioned that we could film in my neighborhood and at my house. The only issue was that I had to work until 8:00 p.m. Even with the late time it was decided we would film in my neighbor hood, mainly because my location is in the middle of our group. (less driving required).
The plan is to film the scenes inside my house and the rest outside. We will do the business/office scenes in my fathers office inside. The street ares could be filmed around his neighborhood. The plan is to film everything on Friday. Because it is only two minutes, we figure we can film everything before it gets too late. Even if it gets dark, it will help with the mood of the scene. If anything goes wrong, we decided we can always film more on Saturday. It gets slightly difficult because of where we all live. We all live in different cities, but know we can make it work regardless.

Filming blog: Week One

We haven't recorded at this point. We plan on shooting this end of the week. It might be an extreme time getting everybody together for recording as our calendars don't actually arrange the manner in which we need them to. We're going to film at my home first, as it is an all around controlled condition, so we will have the option to complete that scene quicker and all the more proficiently. We will film the start of our task, this will be where we first observe our fundamental character composing in quite a while PC, he will at that point get a call from an obscure number asking how "things" are going. Next we are going to film in a rear entryway as it's the point at which all gathering individuals can be available, and it's the point at which we need all hands at hand. Our fundamental battle is getting the individuals we should be there. One of our primary entertainers deals with Friday and Saturday. Our chief additionally has work on Sunday. So we have to film at later occasions. This puts a much more tightly time imperative on us. We'll have less sunlight time to work in so we should be exact in our work. We are simply trusting that everything goes to plan and nothing turns out badly. We have to moderate our time. We just have such a great amount of sunlight when we can film. We're as of now monitoring our arrangement. We should be succinct in our booking. Anything can unexpectedly change without a moment's notice. We have total confidence in each other. It's imperative to ensure we are all energetic about our ideas.

Storyboard

This blog is all about the storyboard. The storyboard is outlining the story, or plot, of what we are recording. We do this so that we have some help when we film. Sometimes, we can get confused about what we are filming. The storyboard helps with that. It shows, scene-by-scene, what we have to film. It helps with reminding us how to go about the filming. Things like how to set up the camera and what angles to use are documented. Overall, it makes the entire filming process easier. It allows for us to be able to focus on the quality of the scenes and not technicalities.

Planning Blog: Titles

For this google slide, we had a good bit of arguing about who gets credit for what. We all contributed a lot to this project. The first thing we discussed was who gets to name the company and studio. we ended up choosing the most professional sounding ones. For the name of who was going to be the editor it was pretty simple because one of our member has experience and offered to do it from the start. we wanted to give fair share of the credibility so each of us got to have our name on some sort of the production and studio. We decided to give Ben the writer label because the plot was his idea. We gave Andrew the producer label because most of the filming will be done at his house. The director label went to Joaquina because she will be filming with the camera. And we gave Freya the story by label because she will be the one making sure we follow the story board.

Planning Blog: location, Participants, etc

For this google slide, we had to discuss a lot as a group. The first thing we talked about was the location. We tried to pick locations that were convenient. Also, as a team, we all had to decide what we were each going to do. Whether it was filming, acting, or driving. Health and safety-wise, we had to take into consideration a lot of things. It was mostly about the surroundings. The last thing we had to agree on was the schedule. It was simply because we easily established that we wanted to be time-efficient. My group works very well together.

Planning blog: sound script

The sound is very important in this production. For sounds I would need to record keyboard typing and things like that. We want to use music from Good time, as it has the aesthetic I want. Things like the sound of cars and a city are important as well. As for the dialogue, we need to have good acting and delivery to make the writing really effective. I was mainly focused on sounds that were possible for us to get. We need to have a god use of diegetic sound, as well as non-dietetic.

Planning blog: shooting script

For the shooting script, it was a tough process. We didn't have an exact idea on what would happen in the story. We mostly made it up as we went along. With time constraints, things were stressful. Luckily we were got our story ready. I wrote with the thought of what was possible for us to shoot. Some things were difficult to put in writing. Hopefully they'll be easier to put into action. But for now I'm happy with what we have. And that's very important.
